Our study centre is here in Double Bay, a short walk from New South Head Road. Kindergarten to Year 12, plus the full IB Diploma, with tutors who average a 98.2 ATAR.
LearnIt is built around one tutor and one student, working through the things that are actually holding your child back rather than a generic worksheet pack. Every family gets feedback from your tutor after each session, so you know what was covered and what comes next without having to ask. Lessons run in your home, online, or at our Double Bay study centre, and you can start with a single lesson before committing to anything.
Double Bay is the one suburb where we are not travelling to you unless you want us to: the LearnIt study centre is here, which means a quiet, purpose-built room for lessons is a few minutes from most homes between Ocean Avenue and Cross Street. The school landscape sitting around the bay is unusually dense for such a small area, with Ascham a short walk up Victoria Road in Edgecliff, Kambala just over the hill in Rose Bay, Scots College and Cranbrook a few minutes east, and Double Bay Public School serving the primary years locally. That concentration shapes what families here are typically preparing for: Year 5 and Year 6 scholarship and entrance testing for the independent schools nearby, then the long climb through Extension Maths and English in the senior years, or the IB Diploma for families whose children are on that track. It also means schedules are tight, with sport, music and after-school commitments spread across three or four different campuses, so lesson times often need to work around a 5pm pickup rather than a clean weekday afternoon.
We cover Knox Street, Cross Street, Steyne Park and the streets around them.
Schools in and around Double Bay that local families commonly attend. Whichever your child is at, we tutor to their syllabus and their assessment calendar.
Because the study centre is in Double Bay itself, most local families are a few minutes away by car or a short walk, and parking around the village is manageable outside the lunch rush. If it suits you better, tutors come to your home anywhere in Double Bay and the surrounding streets through Bellevue Hill, Woollahra and Point Piper, or lessons can run online with the same tutor. There is no lock-in contract, cancellations are handled with nine hours notice, and if the fit is not right we will rematch you with another tutor at no cost.
Your tutor comes to you, so there is no drive and no parking, and your child works in the space they already study in. It suits primary students and busy weeknights particularly well.
A quiet, purpose built room away from the distractions of home. Senior students and exam blocks tend to work best here, and parents often use the time for the school run.
The centre sits in the village itself, so most local families simply walk or park nearby.
Live one on one over video with a shared workspace, so the tutor and student write on the same page. Ideal for sport seasons, travel weeks, and the day someone wakes up unwell.
Jordan has been a fantastic tutor for my boys. He's committed, reliable, and really great with them. My boys are more confident in their subjects and actually enjoy their sessions too. Highly recommend!
Fabulous tutoring experience for 3 grandchildren. They actually enjoy their session and their excellent maths results reflect this, and the skill of their tutor.
The study centre is in Double Bay, close to the New South Head Road end of the village, so most local families are within a short drive or walk. It is entirely your choice: plenty of Double Bay families use the centre for the quiet and the separation from home, while others prefer their tutor comes to the house. Some alternate between the two depending on the week, and online is always available as a fallback if you are travelling or someone is unwell.
Yes, and it is the most common request we get here. Double Bay children are often at schools scattered between Edgecliff, Rose Bay and Bellevue Hill, with training or music on top, so a neat 4pm slot rarely exists. We schedule around what your week actually looks like, including later weekday sessions at the centre and weekend times, and the nine hour cancellation policy gives you room to move when a fixture changes.
We can. Preparation for Year 5 and Year 6 entrance and scholarship testing is a regular part of what we do in this area, whether your child is aiming at Ascham, Kambala, Cranbrook, Scots or elsewhere. We work on the underlying maths and English skills first, then on test technique and timing, and you will see exactly what has been covered through the parent dashboard and the feedback from your tutor after each session.
There is no contract and no joining fee, and we will come back to you within 24 hours with a matched tutor.
