There is no school on this headland, so every Watsons Bay child travels out each morning, to Vaucluse Public or on to Rose Bay Secondary. Your tutor makes the drive instead. Lessons also run online, or at our centre in Double Bay. We cover Kindergarten to Year 12, plus the full IB Diploma.

So the catchment primary is Vaucluse Public School and the catchment high school is Rose Bay Secondary College at Dover Heights. Families here are split between those two and the independent schools strung along New South Head Road. Tutoring usually starts because a parent wants the work at home to line up with whichever of those the child actually attends.
From October to April the Vaucluse Amateur 12ft Sailing Club races every Sunday off Kutti Beach, and plenty of Watsons Bay children are in Sabots or Flying 11s from about age seven. On weekends the 324 and 325 buses bring visitors up Old South Head Road, Robertson Park fills and parking near the wharf goes early. Term 4 homework competes with all of it. We book around the sailing, not against it.

Yes, those are the two catchment schools for Watsons Bay and we work with students at both. Vaucluse Public School sits between Cambridge Avenue and Village High Road, a short run down the hill. Rose Bay Secondary College is at Dover Heights and was formed from the old Vaucluse and Dover Heights high schools. We also tutor students at Kambala, Cranbrook School, Kincoppal-Rose Bay and The Scots College, and right through the IB Diploma.
About fourteen minutes off peak from our Double Bay centre, roughly 7.5 kilometres along New South Head Road and up through Rose Bay and Vaucluse. Weekday evenings are the easy run. Sunny weekends are slower, because traffic heading for the wharf and Camp Cove backs up on Old South Head Road. Most families book a weeknight slot for that reason. If the drive is not worth it in a given week, the same tutor can take that lesson online.

Sabots and Flying 11s off Kutti Beach are not negotiable for most families, so we plan the term backwards from the exam dates and load the heavier revision into weekday afternoons. Nine hours notice is all we need to move a session when racing or the weather changes things.
