Tutoring in Darling Point

Built around your child, not a worksheet pack.

LearnIt is a one on one tutoring service for Darling Point families, from Kindergarten through to Year 12 and the full IB Diploma. Every student works with a single tutor who plans around their real assessment calendar, sets practice in the LearnIt app between sessions, and writes to you after every lesson. Our tutors average a 98.2 ATAR and include state rankers and school duxes, so the person sitting beside your child has recently sat the same course.

Darling Point is a peninsula with essentially one road in and one road out, and that shapes the afternoon more than anything else here. Families are split between the harbourside houses on Mona Road, Carthona Avenue and Yarranabbe Road and the larger apartment buildings running up Darling Point Road toward St Mark's, with Edgecliff station and the ferry wharf both within walking distance for many. The school landscape is unusually dense for such a small area: Ascham sits just over the ridge on New South Head Road, Sydney Grammar's Edgecliff preparatory school is minutes away, Cranbrook and Kambala are a short drive through Bellevue Hill, and Double Bay Public School takes much of the local primary catchment. The result is that we are often running two very different jobs at once in the same postcode, a Year 5 or Year 6 preparing for selective and scholarship testing, and a senior deep in Extension maths, Economics or the IB Diploma with trials already on the horizon.

We cover McKell Park and the Darling Point ferry wharf, St Mark's Anglican Church, Darling Point Road, Yarranabbe Road and Yarranabbe Park and the streets around them.

How lessons work

Three ways to learn in Darling Point.

Most Darling Point families choose lessons at home, and because the peninsula sits barely two kilometres from Double Bay, our tutors arrive without the travel time that makes weeknight sessions difficult elsewhere. Apartment buildings with concierge or visitor parking are no obstacle, we simply confirm access arrangements before the first lesson. If your child works better away from the house, the Double Bay study centre is a six minute drive or a short walk from Edgecliff station, and online lessons run on the same plan with the same tutor when sport, travel or a wet Tuesday gets in the way.

In your home

Your tutor comes to you, so there is no drive and no parking, and your child works in the space they already study in. It suits primary students and busy weeknights particularly well.

Tutors reach the peninsula in minutes, so families skip the drive and the Double Bay parking hunt.

A quiet, purpose built room away from the distractions of home. Senior students and exam blocks tend to work best here, and parents often use the time for the school run.

Common questions

Darling Point parents often ask

Yes, and we do it often. Many Darling Point homes are apartments with concierge desks or restricted visitor parking, so we confirm building access and where your child will sit before the first lesson rather than sorting it out on the doorstep. All we need is a table, a quiet hour and a power point.

We match on syllabus and assessment calendar first, because a Year 9 maths course at one school looks nothing like another. Whether your child is at Ascham, Cranbrook, Kambala, Rose Bay Secondary College or a Grammar preparatory school, we choose a tutor who has sat that course. Several of our tutors were duxes of Eastern Suburbs schools, and we cover the full IB Diploma alongside the HSC.

New South Head Road between four and six is the reason many Darling Point families move to in home lessons in the first place. Our tutors are already close by, so late afternoon and evening slots are genuinely available, and if a training session or a school commitment runs over we can switch that lesson online rather than lose it. The cancellation policy is nine hours, with no lock in contract behind it.

Start with a single lesson, meet the tutor, and decide from there.

There is no contract and no joining fee, and we will come back to you within 24 hours with a matched tutor.
