One-on-One Tutoring in North Bondi

More than half the adults in North Bondi hold a degree, and the suburb has almost no schools of its own, so parents lose sight of the school day. Tutoring is how they get it back. At your place, online, or in Double Bay. Every year level, Kindergarten to Year 12, and the IB Diploma.

Tutoring in North Bondi

Built around your child, not a worksheet pack.

North Bondi runs on professionals. More than half the adults here hold a bachelor degree or higher, and the expectations at home usually match. What the suburb is short on is schools. Apart from the Reddam House high school campus on Mitchell Street, the children head out, to Bondi Beach Public School, up Hardy Street to Rose Bay Secondary College, or across to Queens Park and Randwick. Parents lose sight of the school day. Tutoring is often how they get it back.

The week here has fixed edges. Nippers at North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club starts at 7:45am on a Sunday, a parent has to stay on the beach the whole session, and someone in your age group is always on the BBQ roster. Friday afternoons close early for a lot of households. And from December the traffic on Campbell Parade makes any trip a gamble. We book around all of it.

We teach across North Bondi, from Ramsgate Avenue and Blair Street to Brighton Boulevard and the flats tucked in under Ben Buckler.

How lessons work

Three ways to learn in North Bondi.

Only about one home in five here is a separate house, so lessons usually run at a kitchen table with the rest of the family close by. Our tutors are used to it. Parking near the beach end of Ramsgate Avenue is grim, and from December the Campbell Parade traffic makes any trip a gamble, so we allow for both and still arrive on time.

In your home

Your tutor comes to you, so there is no drive and no parking, and your child works in the space they already study in. It suits primary students and busy weeknights particularly well.

When the school run already leaves the suburb, having the tutor come to you is the one trip you get to cancel.

At our Double Bay centre

A quiet, purpose built room away from the distractions of home. Senior students and exam blocks tend to work best here, and parents often use the time for the school run.

Online

Live one on one over video with a shared workspace, so the tutor and student write on the same page. Ideal for sport seasons, travel weeks, and the day someone wakes up unwell.

Common questions

North Bondi parents often ask

Most of our North Bondi families are at Bondi Beach Public School, Bondi Public School or Galilee Catholic Primary School, then Rose Bay Secondary College on Hardy Street in Dover Heights. We also work with students at Reddam House on Mitchell Street, Kesser Torah College in Dover Heights, Moriah College and Waverley College. Tutors follow the NSW syllabus and the assessment schedule the school actually uses, so a Year 9 maths session lines up with the topic being taught that fortnight.

All three. A tutor can come to your home in North Bondi, you can work online, or you can come to our study centre at Level 2, Shop 10 and 11, 401 New South Head Road, Double Bay. That drive is about 4.5 kilometres, roughly twelve minutes off peak, along Old South Head Road through Rose Bay and Dover Heights. Plenty of families start at home and move to the centre in Year 11 and 12, when a quiet room with no siblings matters more.

With a proper look at what is missing, not with this week's homework. The tutor's first job is to find the gap rather than guess at it. From there we work forward at his pace while keeping him afloat in the class he sits in at Rose Bay Secondary, because the syllabus does not wait. Written notes come to you after each hour so you can watch the gap close.

Tell us the school, the subject and the week you are up against, and we will match a North Bondi tutor.

There is no contract and no joining fee, and we will come back to you within 24 hours with a matched tutor.
