One-on-One Tutoring in Bondi Beach

Plenty of our Bondi Beach students study at a kitchen bench with a sibling three metres away, so the first thing a tutor sorts out is where homework actually happens. After that it is one hour, one student, in the flat, on a laptop, or at the Double Bay study centre. Kindergarten to Year 12, IB included.

Tutoring in Bondi Beach

Built around your child, not a worksheet pack.

Bondi Beach is a suburb of flats. The median unit sells for around 1.5 million and the median house for more than four million, and the median resident is 34, so the families who stay are a committed minority in a young, shifting population. That shapes the work. Plenty of our students here study at a kitchen bench with a sibling three metres away, and the first thing a tutor sorts out is not algebra, it is where the homework actually happens.

The rhythm here is set by the beach and the hill behind it. Two surf clubs run nippers on Sunday mornings, Bondi Surf Bathers' Life Saving Club, founded in 1907 and the oldest in the country, and North Bondi at the Ramsgate Avenue end, with the season starting in October. On weekends the Bondi Beach Public School playground becomes the markets, farmers on Saturday, stalls on Sunday. Then Year 7 arrives and the beach end empties at 8am, up Bondi Road or onto the 333.

We tutor across the whole beach end, from Campbell Parade and Hall Street to the shops on Gould and Curlewis Streets and down to the Icebergs end of Notts Avenue.

How lessons work

Three ways to learn in Bondi Beach.

A two bedroom flat off Hall Street is the most common set up we work in here. The tutor comes to you, finds the kitchen table, and asks for the television to go off. In summer the meters at the beach end run above ten dollars an hour, so your tutor walks up from Glenayr Avenue and still starts on the hour.

In your home

Your tutor comes to you, so there is no drive and no parking, and your child works in the space they already study in. It suits primary students and busy weeknights particularly well.

When parking is the hardest part of any Bondi Beach afternoon, having the tutor come to you removes it.

At our Double Bay centre

A quiet, purpose built room away from the distractions of home. Senior students and exam blocks tend to work best here, and parents often use the time for the school run.

Online

Live one on one over video with a shared workspace, so the tutor and student write on the same page. Ideal for sport seasons, travel weeks, and the day someone wakes up unwell.

Common questions

Bondi Beach parents often ask

Two things. The testing, which means opportunity class and selective preparation for the selective classes at Rose Bay Secondary College, and Year 7 entry or scholarship papers for schools like Waverley College, St Clare's College Waverley, Moriah College or Reddam House. And the transition itself. A child who has spent seven years in a primary on Campbell Parade is about to sit in a much larger cohort, with more teachers and a real assessment calendar. We build the study habits before they need them, not after the first report.

Whenever the week has a gap. Tutors work weekday afternoons and evenings across Bondi Beach, and we schedule around Sunday nippers rather than through it. If a session clashes with a carnival or the family is away, tell us nine hours ahead and there is no charge. Online lessons cover the rest, and they run the same way as an in person one, same tutor, same plan, shared workspace. Over January that matters more here than almost anywhere.

It can, and plenty of our senior students here are in that situation, because Bondi Beach is a suburb of flats. The tutor's first job is usually logistics rather than content, so we sort out where the folders live and when the bench is quiet. If a sibling three metres away makes it hopeless, book the Double Bay study centre instead, or run the hour online behind a closed door.

Tell us your child's year, their school and what is not working, and we will match them with a tutor in Bondi Beach.

There is no contract and no joining fee, and we will come back to you within 24 hours with a matched tutor.
