Kindergarten to Year 12 and the full IB Diploma, taught at your kitchen table, online, or at our Double Bay study centre. Every family is matched with a tutor chosen for their child.
Tamarama is about 14 minutes by car from our Double Bay study centre, roughly 5.6 kilometres.
LearnIt is a one-on-one tutoring practice, and in a suburb the size of Tamarama that matters more than usual: with so few local children in any one year group, a small group class is rarely built around the school your child actually attends. Each student is matched with a single tutor who plans to their teacher, their syllabus and their assessment calendar, from Kindergarten through to Year 12 and the full IB Diploma. Every session ends with feedback from your tutor, and every student gets the LearnIt learning app at no extra cost, with practice set by their tutor, progress tracking and a live parent dashboard.
Tamarama is one of the smallest suburbs in Sydney, a steep amphitheatre of streets falling into a single beach, and it has no school inside its own boundaries. Every school run here is already an out of suburb trip, over the hill to Bronte, up the rise to Waverley, or north towards Bondi, and by Year 7 the choices spread wider still across Rose Bay Secondary College, the Waverley schools, and the independents in Bellevue Hill and Rose Bay. With a cohort this small, a child is often the only one from their street in their year group, which leaves parents with very little sense of where their child actually sits until a report card tells them. Then Term 4 arrives with Sculpture by the Sea running the length of the coastal walk into Tamarama Park, right as the yearly exams and the HSC do.
We cover Tamarama Beach and the surf club, Tamarama Park and Wonderland Avenue, the Bondi to Bronte coastal walk and the streets around them.
Schools in and around Tamarama that local families commonly attend. Whichever your child is at, we tutor to their syllabus and their assessment calendar.
Most Tamarama families have the tutor come to them, and ours drive the whole suburb, from the flats along Tamarama Marine Drive up through Wonderland Avenue, Illawong Avenue and the streets climbing towards Fletcher Street. Online lessons run on the same plan with the same tutor, which helps in surf season, over the January break, or on a night that has already got away from you. The Double Bay study centre is roughly a quarter of an hour away outside peak traffic, and it tends to suit senior students who want a quiet room and a clean break from home.
Your tutor comes to you, so there is no drive and no parking, and your child works in the space they already study in. It suits primary students and busy weeknights particularly well.
Steep, parking starved streets and a slow crosstown drive make a tutor at home the easier call.
A quiet, purpose built room away from the distractions of home. Senior students and exam blocks tend to work best here, and parents often use the time for the school run.
Live one on one over video with a shared workspace, so the tutor and student write on the same page. Ideal for sport seasons, travel weeks, and the day someone wakes up unwell.
Best tutoring I have ever experienced. Jordan is great. He has helped with my ability and confidence in maths.
The tutors at Learn It are superb and have really guided me, and I have now seen better results especially in English and maths.
Yes, and it is the whole point of how we work. We teach to your child's actual syllabus, teacher and assessment calendar, so whether your child is at Bronte Public, Waverley Public or Bondi Beach Public, or later at Rose Bay Secondary College, Waverley College, St Clare's or St Catherine's, the lesson follows what is happening in their classroom this week rather than a generic worksheet pack.
It usually works better than the alternative. Your tutor handles the drive and the parking, not you, and your child studies in the room they already work in, which saves a second trip out after the school pickup and a hunt for a space near the beach through Terms 1 and 4. If a particular week is awkward, the same tutor can run the lesson online with no change to the plan.
We plan backwards from the assessment calendar rather than around the weather. Senior students often shift to the Double Bay study centre or online for the exam block, which puts a door between them and the coastal walk, and the 9 hour cancellation policy means a genuinely lost afternoon can be moved rather than wasted. You also get feedback from your tutor after every session, so you can see what was covered without having to ask.
There is no contract and no joining fee, and we will come back to you within 24 hours with a matched tutor.
