One-on-One Tutoring in Kingsford

Casual student tutors are everywhere along Barker Street, and most Kingsford parents have already tried one, then lost them mid Year 11. We are built to last longer than a semester. Lessons run at your bench, online, or seven kilometres away at our Double Bay centre. Kindergarten right up to Year 12, IB Diploma too.

Tutoring in Kingsford

Built around your child, not a worksheet pack.

Kingsford sits on the edge of the UNSW campus. Barker Street and Anzac Parade are effectively the university's back fence. That means casual student tutors are everywhere here, and most parents have already tried one. The problem is usually the same. The tutor finishes the degree, moves out of the share house, and the arrangement ends mid Year 11. Families call us when they want something that lasts longer than a semester.

Kingsford is one of the few Eastern Suburbs that does not touch the water. Coogee is under three kilometres east, Maroubra about four, so weekends here are not built around nippers. They are built around junior league. The South Sydney District Junior Rugby Football League keeps its office on Wallace Street and the season runs April to August. The light rail terminates at Juniors Kingsford, so older students can get themselves to the city.

We teach in homes off Gardeners Road, Middle Street and Sturt Street, and all around the Nine Ways where Anzac Parade, Bunnerong Road and Rainbow Street meet.

How lessons work

Three ways to learn in Kingsford.

Close to half of Kingsford is apartments, so plenty of these lessons happen at a kitchen bench instead of a study, and that works fine. The tutor drives down Anzac Parade or cuts across Gardeners Road and finds a gap, because parking around the Nine Ways is its own sport. The hour is the hour, whatever the traffic did.

In your home

Your tutor comes to you, so there is no drive and no parking, and your child works in the space they already study in. It suits primary students and busy weeknights particularly well.

Kingsford traffic and parking make the school run long enough already, so we come to you.

At our Double Bay centre

A quiet, purpose built room away from the distractions of home. Senior students and exam blocks tend to work best here, and parents often use the time for the school run.

Online

Live one on one over video with a shared workspace, so the tutor and student write on the same page. Ideal for sport seasons, travel weeks, and the day someone wakes up unwell.

Common questions

Kingsford parents often ask

Kingsford draws on a mix of schools. St Spyridon College has its junior campus on Gardeners Road. Nearby public primaries include Kensington Public School, Daceyville Public School and Rainbow Street Public School. For high school there is Randwick High School, the co-educational school formed when the Randwick boys and girls campuses merged, plus Hartford College at Daceyville and Lycée Condorcet at Maroubra. We match the tutor to the actual course and syllabus, not just the year level.

Either. Our centre is at Level 2, Shop 10 and 11, 401 New South Head Road, Double Bay, about seven kilometres from the Nine Ways and roughly fifteen minutes off peak. Plenty of Kingsford families prefer we come to them. Plenty prefer the centre, usually because the flat is loud with younger siblings. We also teach online, which suits Year 11 and 12 students who want a session after a late training night. You can mix all three across a term.

Kingsford sits on the university's back fence, so most families here have already tried a student tutor and watched the arrangement end mid year. We match for the long run instead of the semester, and. A rematch, if you ever want one, costs nothing.

Tell us the subject, the year and the school, and we will find the Kingsford tutor who fits.

There is no contract and no joining fee, and we will come back to you within 24 hours with a matched tutor.
